Conviction[]

"How would you describe your town, Serenoa?"

Morality "Wolfort is nestled safely behind the castle walls. It is a town at peace, and sets an example for the rest of the kingdom."
Liberty "To know a town, you must take time to relish her company. That's what Erador told me, in perhaps more colorful words."
Utility "It is the port at the center of commerce. A town built on taxes, but not at the expense of fair trade."

"Child - I need to find a place to hide, and quick!"

Morality "Take care not to hurt yourself. Your father wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you."
Liberty "Ah, one of my favorite game. Barrels were always my favorite place to hide."
Utility "It takes a cleaver mind to hide. Perhaps you can use that cleaverness to help your father when you're older."

"How do you see our grand cooperative venture?"

Morality "It is the first step towards true harmony among our three nations. I welcome it."
Liberty "It is impossible to understand each nation's motivation. I can't say whether it bolds well."
Utility "It will benefit all nations involved. I see nothing wrong with that."

"You'll do your father proud, I'm sure. Unlike some of us..."

Morality "Have more faith in yourself, my friend. You, too, shoulder the future of the kingdom, after all."
Liberty "...Come. Preparing for the tourney will take your mind off your worries."
Utility "This is no time for self-pity. A prince's subjects musn't hear him talking that way."

"Do you have a stratagem in mind for the tourney?"

Morality "Our house fights with honor. There shall be no trick, but we will offer our opponents no quarter."
Liberty "You handled yourselves admirably when the bandits attacked. I expect your magic will be key to our victory."
Utility "It may be but a tourney, but defeat will bring shame upon us. I intend to do whatever I must to win."

"To what end do you believe this contest is being held?"

Morality "It may appear to be mere entertainement, but reputations are at stake. If we show weakness, then it will noted by all in attendance."
Liberty "It's a chance for our three nations to gather and celebrate. Although the battles may be bloodless, victory is sweet all the same."
Utility "In times of peace there are precious few chances to display martial prowess. I mean to remind people of House Wolffort's legacy."

Battle[]

The tournament beings with Serenoa representing the Kingdom of Glenbrook.

Terrain and strategy[]

The combat area for this battle is quite small, eight tiles wide and not much longer. The recommended level is three, so it can be difficult if Serenoa and his allies are still level two. It may be advantageous to wait in the starting positions until the enemy rogues advance far enough to start using their throwing knives. This makes it easier to avoid receiving follow-up attacks early on. It's also worth taking out the rogues and pikemen first, as they can be defeated more quickly. With the enemy ranks thinned out, it isn't hard to finish off Marcial and Ende.
