Battle[]
Escape from Whiteholm Castle is a battle in Triangle Strategy.
Terrain and strategy[]
This entire battle takes place on a bridge, giving many of the tiles a 20 unit height increase. In the middle of the level is a closed gate, which must be opened by standing near an adjacent lever.
In the early battle, Ser Maxwell will watch the rear and deal with the reinforcements that arrive from time to time. While he is particularly strong, it is possible for these reinforcements to overwhelm and defeat him. It's worth considering having one other unit hang back to help him, even if just to draw some attacks or give him a heal or two. The rest of the party can focus on the enemy units already on the field. It's a good idea to clear out these units before opening the gate, though the bowmen up high can probably be left alone. After opening the gate, it is only necessary to defeat the units on the drawbridge to finish the battle.
It may be tempting to try to draw those units outside the gate in, but they must be lured by advancing a unit into their attack range. In the time it takes to set this up, Maxwell will likely have dealt with reinforcements and will likely charge in before it's possible to pull the enemy units through the gate, meaning the fight will generally end up on the other side of the gate either way.
