Decimal was a prototype of The Hierophant, created by Lyla Viscraft. Decimal was ultimately discarded by Idore Delmira due to possessing free will and thought.
Decimal was a scrapped automaton, a non-living creature capable of motion and thought. Decimal's earliest memory was being abandoned in Hyzante, then being picked up by a travelling merchant. The merchant attempted to sell Decimal to multiple people, but ultimately abandoned Decimal at House Wolffort after realizing Decimal's tendency to glitch.
Automaton[]
An adorable singing and dancing automaton. He does not know who invented him or why, but he has somehow found himself in the Wolffort demesne.- In-game description
At House Wolffort, Decimal's new master becomes Anna Pascal. Despite the two starting off on rocky terms, Anna comes to appreciate Decimal's free will and mathematical efficiency. Decimal is strangely reminded of his creator whenever he's around Anna.

Character Stories[]
Welcome One and Welcome All![]
In the Wolffort demesne, a merchant tries to sell off a peculiar automaton...
- Itinerant Merchant: Welcome one and welcome all! Behold!
- Itinerant Merchant: You'll find no finer selection of exotic wares in all the land! Sparkling jewels, beautiful silks...
- Itinerant Merchant: ...and the rarest curio of them all: this automaton! It sings, it dances—it does it all!
- Itinerant Merchant: That's your cue, Decimal!
- Decimal: Welcome one and welcome all!
- Decimal: Welcome and welcome and wElcoMe AnD WelCoMEaND...
- Wolffort Townsperson (M) A: What's wrong with that thing!?
- Wolffort Townsperson (M) B: Stay away!
- Itinerant Merchant: You blasted sack of screws! I bought you to lure in customers, not scare them off!
- Decimal: I am sorry. I did not mean to...lose functional control again.
- Itinerant Merchant: Useless rusted heap of bolts! I've lost track of all the gold I've squandered on your repairs, and for what gain?
- Itinerant Merchant: But no more. I won't empty my coinpurse trying to make riches out of rubbish.
- Itinerant Merchant: Ah, perfect timing...
- Itinerant Merchant: You there! How would you like an automaton to call your very own?
- Itinerant Merchant: What are you waiting for!? Dance for them!
- Decimal: Welcome one and welcome all! Welcome one and welcome all!
- Itinerant Merchant: Incredible, isn't it? Bet you've never seen its like before!
- Serenoa: Indeed, but...
- Itinerant Merchant: Then it's all yours!
- Itinerant Merchant: So long, Decimal! Be good for your new master!
- Anna: Wait—! Tch. Fleet of foot, that one.
- Anna: What shall we do with it?
- Serenoa: Hmmm... It wouldn't do to simply abandon it here.
- Serenoa: Perhaps it can be of some use to us. You'll look after it, won't you, Anna?
- Anna: ...If that is your wish.
- Decimal: My name is Decimal. I hope I will serve you well, Master.
- Anna: Don't call me that. My name's Anna.
- Decimal: As you command, Master Anna.
- Anna: ......
A Failure[]
Anna, left to look after the automaton Decimal, wonders why he calls her "Master."
- Decimal: I apologize for the wait, Master Anna.
- Anna: Enough with the Master. How many times must I say this?
- Anna: But thank you. You can put it down there.
- Decimal: ......
- Anna: What is it?
- Decimal: Thank you, Master, for taking me in.
- Decimal: I hope I can be of use to you.
- Anna: What's brought this on?
- Decimal: I was useless to my previous master, and less than useless to my master before that.
- Decimal: But I...I want to be useful, in whatever small way I can.
- Anna: You had a different master before that merchant?
- Decimal: Yes. My creator.
- Decimal: I tried so hard to be helpful. So very, very hard.
- Decimal: But I was so very bad at following orders. The last thing I remember is my master calling me a failure...
- Decimal: When I came to awareness again, I was hawking wares with the merchant.
- Anna: So you were thrown away...
- Anna: What sort of person was your first master?
- Decimal: You remind me of her. Even the way you speak seems similar, somehow...
- Decimal: But when I try to recall, I...I...I...IiiIIiiIIiiIi—
- Anna: Wh-what's going on!?
- Anna: Settle down! Now!
- Decimal: All functions returned to standard operating parameters.
- Anna: It appears the merchant got the better end of this deal...
- Decimal: I apologize. I wish I could be of more use...
The Automaton's Master[]
Decimal wishes to do what he can to serve his "master," Anna...
- Anna: Paperwork will be the death of me...
- Decimal: Might I be of some service to you, Ma—I mean, Anna?
- Anna: ......
- Anna: No, thank you. I am fine for the moment.
- Decimal: Whatever you require, you need only ask, Ma—Anna... Master.
- Anna: Decimal.
- Decimal: I am sorry. I do not seem capable of calling you elsewise.
- Decimal: Indeed, the only thing I am capable of is failure...
- Anna: Don't speak of yourself like that. You are trying.
- Wolffort Soldier: I bear dire news.
- Wolffort Soldier: The vanguard is burning through supplies like wildfire. They won't last us much longer!
- Anna: What!?
- Anna: This risks leaving them stranded on the front lines...
- Anna: I must send a report to Benedict at once.
- Decimal: Ah, er... There is no cause for concern.
- Anna: Isn't there?
- Decimal: You see, I made some calculations when I was assisting Master Erador the other day.
- Decimal: And I discovered then that the supplies were running dangerously low...
- Decimal: ...so I suggested Master Erador make arrangements for an emergency shipment.
- Anna: And he did not think to inform me of this?
- Anna: Wait. You acted of your own volition? With no orders from anyone?
- Decimal: I only wanted to be of some use. I made the calculations before I realized what had come over me.
- Decimal: I apologize for acting so impetuously.
- Anna: No. You did well.
- Decimal: I...did?
- Anna: It seems I misjudged your worth. That merchant did us a great favor.
- Anna: I will ask Lord Serenoa to find other tasks that might put your skills to use.
- Decimal: My thanks, Master. I mean...
- Anna: Call me whatever you wish. I will take it as a mark of our fellowship.
- Anna: And I am glad to count you among my fellows, Decimal.
- Decimal: You honor me, Master. Thank you. Thank you!

- Decimal: Holy One... You are but someone else's creation...as am I.
- Decimal: No... I should not liken we two. I am here of my own will. To fight alongside the rest of my House Wolffort brethren.
- Decimal: Your role in this is over. I shall see to it.
Final Chapter: For Norzelia[]
vs. The Hierophant[]
- The Hierophant: ...
- Decimal: I thought I was the broken one. But what you are...bereft of will...only a tool...I...pity you.
- The Hierophant: ...
- Decimal: I will put you out of your misery.
Final Chapter: For Norzelia[]
vs. Idore[]
- Decimal: I know now why you considered me a failure. And I pity you...
- Idore: That is exactly why you were fit only for scrap. Yours was not to think, but to deliver the will of the Holy One.
- Decimal: No one is fit to judge my failures but me. No one else will shape my actions!
