The Holy State of Hyzante is one of the three nations in Norzelia and a location in Triangle Strategy.
Profile[]
The Holy State of Hyzante is in Norzelia's Southeastern lands, and has a desertous, arid landscape. Horses are native to the oasises of the land, and are famed for their strength and speed. Hyzante's main source of income comes from its' monopoly of salt, which is harvested from the singular salt lake in Hyzante's capital. Hyzante is the leading authority in Norzelia's medical, magical, and religous research. The Ministry of Medicine is an institution which studies all of the aforementioned fields, but is strictly forbidden from divulging their knowledge outside of Hyzante.
The Holy State of Hyzante is led by the Saintly Seven, and more specifically the Hierophant. Hyzante's government is a strict theocracy, where the saints decide what careers citizens must pursue. The capital is located around the Source, and is surrounded by a formidable wall known as the Goddess' Shield.

Centuries before the game began, Norzelia was once covered by a large sea. A great calamity dried up the ocean once covering Norzelia, and the only remaining trace was saltwater at the Source. As people began to migrate to Norzelia, a group claimed the Source as their own and established an unshakeable monopoly over all of Norzelia's salt. This group became the Holy State of Hyzante.
South of Norzelia was a continent by the name of Centralia. A race known as the Rosellans were native to Centralia, and were well aware of the world's geography. The Rosellans knew salt crystals lie hidden deep in Norzelia's ground, and that the people needn't rely on Hyzante's Source. As such, the Rosellans embarked to Norzelia bearing a salt crystal pillar to prove the existence of salt crystals. When the Rosellans made it to Norzelia and attempted to inform the people about salt crystals, Hyzante took action.
The Holy State of Hyzante slaughtered the Roselle who dared to speak of salt crystals and forced the remaining Roselle to mine salt at the Source. Hyzante circulated the lie that the Rosellans had attempted to steal the Source for themselves, and as such had to be enslaved as punishment from the Goddess. Rosellans still labor at Hyzante's Source by the time Triangle Strategy begins, seeking atonement for a crime they did not commit.
The Goddess' Teachings are Hyzante's oldest piece of religous text. Despite the Kingdom of Glenbrook claiming to have been founded before Hyzante, The Goddess' Teachings say that Hyzante was founded first.
Saltiron War[]
The Saltiron War was a conflict between the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost, the Kingdom of Glenbrook, and the Holy State of Hyzante 30 years before the events of Triangle Strategy. It all began when Archduke Zigmunt Aesfrost grew furious at Hyzante's monopoly over salt. Zigmunt contacted King Regna Glenbrook regarding passage into Hyzante, and asked for an alliance with Glenbrook. Regna agreed to allow the Aesfrosti army to pass through Glenbrook's land, with the catch being Aesfrost must maintain joint control over the Source with Glenbrook once they conquer Hyzante. When Aesfrost first marched on Hyzante, the Goddess' Shield kept the Holy State safe for a while. But what truly drove back the Aesfrosti was a warrior sought out by the hierophant: a warrior by the name of Symon Wolffort. Symon and his clan drove back Aesfrost's forces, and proved themselves to be a fearsome band of warriors. Symon Wolffort was a clansmen who served under Hyzante's banner, and helped defend the Holy State from Aesfrost's and Glenbrook's attacks.

During the war, the hierophant fell deathly ill, and presumably died from their sickness. Idore Delmira took this opportunity to create a mechanical Hierophant with the help of Lyla Viscraft and Aelfric's power. Since the robotic hierophant had no free will of its' own, every time Idore consulted the hierophant he would simply state his own thoughts and decisions. He became the puppetmaster of the entirety of Hyzante.
The war came to a standstill, with House Wolffort and Hyzante fending off Aesfrost and Glenbrook. During the standstill, the hierophant succumbs to illness, and the Saintly Seven bicker over who would succeed the hierophant. Orlaea, a Rosellan, uses this chaos to encourage her fellow Roselle at the Source to rebel and flee Hyzante. Saint Archibald Genoe assists the Roselle in their escape, and is promptly dismissed from the Saintly Seven. Hyzante made an effort to cover up this embarassing show of instability, as soon after Minister Idore Delmira finally found a new Hierophant.
Meanwhile, Orlaea had escaped to Aesfrost and became Zigmunt Aesfrost's concubine. When King Regna and Symon Wolffort negotiated a peace treaty between Hyzante and Aesfrost, Hyzante agreed to sign on one condition: Aesfrost must hand over Orlaea. Zigmunt relinquished Orlaea to Hyzante, and Hyzante ensured Orlaea spent her last days in misery and anguish. The secret of the Roselle was kept hidden from the rest of Norzelia once more.
