Triangle Strategy Wiki

Thalas Aesfrost is a non-player character in Triangle Strategy.

Profile/Story[]

Background[]

Thalas is a young man with pale skin, tousled silver/white hair worn in a side part, and cold blue eyes. He has a lean frame and is clothed in opulent clothing befitting of his royal station. He wears a ruffled grey shirt with puffed sleeves and a doublet overtop in the deep red Aesfrost colors. He also dons long black fingerless gloves that feature straps, a black belt, and an amethyst brooch fastened to the ruffle of his shirt.

Thalas is the younger brother of Archduke Gustadolph Aesfrost, and thus he is the youngest son of Zigmunt Aesfrost. Like Gustadolph and Erika Aesfrost, he is a half-sibling to Frederica Aesfrost, albeit a maligned one much like his other full-blood siblings. At a young age, he was appointed the position of Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost at Gustadolph's discretion, and he revels in his supposed superiority over others as best seen in his interactions with his cousin Dragan Aesfrost.

Prime Minister of Aesfrost[]

Thalas is the prime minister of the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost, appointed by his brother, Gustadolph Aesfrost. He is also the older brother of minister Erika Aesfrost. While he is mentioned in Chapter I: A Young Hawk Soars during an optional event, he is first formally seen in Chapter II: To Arms, Brave Warriors. As a dignitary representing Aesfrost, he and his sister Erika Aesfrost attend the Norzelian tournament. Eventually, he returns home, dissatisfied.

Thalas is the one that ensured Dragan Aesfrost was killed, and refuses to give his cousin a proper burial in the Norzelian Mines. When the Kingdom of Glenbrook is taken over by the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost, Thalas is more than thrilled. He assists Gustadolph Aesfrost in subjugating Glenbrook, while also participating in more...frivolous affairs. Thalas also took pleasure in seeing Cordelia Glenbrook being bullied by his older sister, Erika Aesfrost.

In Chapter XIII, Part I: Our Time Has Come, Thalas Aesfrost and Erika are entrusted with Glenbrook and Avlora while Gustadolph returns to Aesfrost. Gustadolph offers to make Thalas consul of Glenbrook if Thalas holds down Glenbrook admirably. House Wolffort and the Holy State of Hyzante use this opportunity to attack Whiteholm Castle, in an attempt to liberate Glenbrook from Aesfrost.

  • If the War Council votes to flood the capital

General Avlora is lost to the flood, along with numerous Aesfrosti forces. Although Thalas and Erika Aesfrost are able to incapacitate Queen Cordelia with an arrow, they are bested by House Wolffort and killed.

  • If the War Council votes to sneak into the castle

While at Whiteholm Castle’s docks, Thalas attempts to load an Aesfrosti warship with expensive artwork, hoping to escape via warship and sell the artwork should things turn sour. Erika Aesfrost catches Thalas in the act, but reluctantly teams up with her little brother to face off against the infiltrating House Wolffort. Erika and Thalas both die to House Wolffort's ambush.

  • If the War Council votes to negotiate

Thalas and Erika Aesfrost catch wind of House Wolffort's plan to destroy Whiteholm Castle's bridge, and launch a pincer attack before House Wolffort has a chance to ready the Aelfric. Frederica Aesfrost finally finds the confidence to stand up to Thalas, a confidence which impresses yet frightens Thalas. Thalas and Erika die to their older sister's wrath, finally receiving due karma for the years they had tormented Frederica.

Mid-Battle Conversations[]

Chapter XIII, Part II: Born of Strife and Sadness[]

vs. Frederica[]

  • Thalas: Marrying into House Wolffort certainly gave you an inflated opinion of yourself, Frederica.
  • Thalas: But you are nothing but filth, descended from a long line of filth. I will drag you off that high horse and make you remember!
  • Frederica: Threaten me all you like. I am no longer so easily cowed!

vs. Milo[]

  • Thalas: Aesfrost could use a woman of your skill. Join us, and I'll personally make it worth your while.
  • Milo: Heh, I would, but I hate children. Especially spoiled brats like you.

Chapter XIII, Part II: Time to Say Goodbye[]

vs. Frederica[]

  • Thalas: Be a good girl, Frederica. Swear yourself to me, my beloved little pet, and I just might let you live.
  • Frederica: You may believe otherwise, but you cannot threaten everyone into doing your bidding!
  • Thalas: I will not be disrespected by some filthy Rosellan reject! You are a stain upon Aesfrost. One I will take great pleasure in removing!
  • Frederica: I understand now... You are sad, and pathetic, and I happened to be there to bear the brunt of your discontent...
  • Frederica: But no longer. That ends today!

vs. Milo[]

  • Thalas: Aesfrost could use a woman of your skill. Join us, and I'll personally make it worth your while.
  • Milo: Heh, I would, but I hate children. Especially spoiled brats like you.

Chapter XIV, Part I: A Steep Cost[]

vs. Roland[]

  • Thalas: Some homecoming, Prince! Creeping around in that ridiculous mask—have you no pride?
  • Roland: Everything I did, I did to reclaim my kingdom. And to see you destroyed!
  • Thalas: Turning the crown city into a battlefield to satisfy your own personal vendetta? What a sorry excuse for a prince.
  • Thalas: The people will call for your head when they find out what you've done!
